Two brands, one store, one partner portal

A Shopify store running two brands, with product pages that work as landing pages and a partner portal extended for Addex’s resellers, from their first application to their orders.

Problem

Two brands, and resellers to bring on board

Addex Group sells site machinery under two brands: Addex Dust for dust extraction and Addex Urban for street and landscaping machines. Each needed its own look and contacts on a single store.

Resellers also needed a way to apply, be approved and then order. The group already had a procurement portal, but it served a single store.

Constraints
01
Both brands had to share one catalogue, one set of customers and one checkout
02
The procurement portal served one store and had to serve several, each with its own branding
03
A long reseller application had to feel short, and nobody could be approved without a check
04
Portal roles and labels had to match how Addex and its resellers work
System

One store for buyers, one portal for partners

Every page knows which brand it belongs to, and the header, menus, phone number, footer and forms follow it, while both brands share the same page sections.

Resellers use the procurement portal, which I extended to serve several stores, with their own branding and roles that match Addex. On Addex it takes over from the old reseller setup, so partners apply and order in one place.

Decisions

Six decisions that shaped the build

01

Two brands, one store

Addex Dust and Addex Urban run on one Shopify store, sharing products and customers, while each keeps its own colours, menus, phone number and footer.

02

One portal for every store

I extended the procurement portal to serve several stores, each with its own branding, so Addex resellers order through the same system as the group’s other stores.

03

A product page that does a landing page’s job

The BA200X page tells the product’s story, shows what comes in the body-only and kit versions, compares specifications side by side, and ends with an enquiry about that tool.

04

An application that does not feel long

Becoming a reseller means answering a lot of questions, so I built the application as a step-by-step wizard that keeps each screen short.

05

Built once, reused for every launch

The landing page is made from sections the team can reuse, so the corded AS200X page was built from the same pieces as the cordless BA200X.

06

Approvals the team controls

New applications wait in Shopify admin until the right people approve or decline them, and applicants are kept informed from the moment they apply.

Results

Resellers onboarded and ordering in one place

Resellers apply through a guided form, the team approves them, and approved partners order through the same procurement portal as the group’s other stores.

Both brands keep their own look on one store, and new product pages are built from sections that already exist.

Measured
Reseller applications received, reviewed and approved inside the portal
One procurement portal serving several stores, each with its own branding
Portal roles and labels matched to how Addex works
Two brands on one store, with product pages built from reusable sections
Judgement

Trade-offs

Extending one portal to several stores means every change has to work for each of them, not just Addex. In exchange, features like reseller onboarding are built once, not once per store.

What I would do differently

I would have built the portal for several stores from the start, rather than extending it once a second store needed it.
